"We won't let 'green movement' to reappear": commander

ENGLISH  - A commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Hossein Hamedani said: "In no way will we let anything known as the 'green movement' reappear."

At a press conference, Hamedani who is the commander for the greater Tehran area described the programs IRGC has scheduled on the occasion of the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic revolution.

"We are the representatives of people. At a rally staged on December 30, people gave their ultimatum, asking for the unrest to be ended. We won't allow a 'green movement' influenced by foreigners to show up, although our entire people are green in terms of attitude," he declared.

February 11 is not a protest day

Hamedani further warned on using the anniversary of Islamic revolution to stage anti-government protests: "We are sure that those who were ignorant before December 30 thinking that they could damage the establishment realized that February 11 is not a day for protest, but for solidarity. Even if a part of our society are disapproved and have their own rights to object some government's acts, they won't show it is a protest on that day."

The third and fourth generation of Islamic revolution will prove more resistance

He stressed: "On the anniversary of Islamic revolution, Iranian people will give an ultimatum to the world arrogance, an ultimatum to those who plot against Islamic establishment. By now they should have learnt their lesson. They must know that our nation is resistant. Even this year the third and fourth generation of Islamic revolution proved more resistance than their predecessors."
