Speaking to Khabar Online, Jahngirzadeh who is a member of national security and foreign policy commission of Iran Parliament (Majlis) opined that the growing military presence and war games of the United States are sometimes justified as attempts made to create security or promoting freedom and democracy in the region.
"But it's not clear what measures White House officials will take for those who want to bring freedom to US. How will they respond if others deploy military forces to the United States on such a pretext?" He said.
"The presence of US in the Middle East damages the local and traditional cultures there. If freedom is to be institutionalized by military forces and not by people, it not only won't raise the level of security but leads to growing insecurity and tips the balance of the region. So the Middle East countries must take a stance and resist any bullying country which is to shape their destiny and dictate its plans to them," Jahngirzadeh added.
"As well as strengthening its military activities, the United States justifies its growing presence by using the media. Employing Zionist media, US points to several reasons to validate its domination over those countries which play host to American military bases. Such a scheme enables White House officials to stay away from serious confrontations by the people of these countries," he concluded.
It should be noted that citing Iran's developing nuclear and missile programs as a threat, US has lately taken measures to boost the capability of antiaircraft missiles on the territory of some of its Arab allies in the Persian Gulf region.
