He said that if a trustable evidence is provided on the national flag color change at the recent state ceremonies, the council will probe the issue."
"The rules are transparent on this case and must be abided by all executive bodies. If it's true, those organizations which have committed such act should be questioned," he maintained.
Recently at some ceremonies held by the government, the green stripe on the Iranian flag had changed to blue or black, including one attended by the President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad staged a in Tehran for the head of the state-funded Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA). At the ceremony in a graphic design behind Ahmadinejad, the green stripe of the country's national flag had turned to blue.
Altering national flag colors is against the constitution of Islamic Republic of Iran. Under the constitution, the colors of Iran's national flag are green white and red.
However, green is also the color adopted by the opposition Green Movement which has challenged the government of Ahmadinejad after the disputed presidential election on June 12.
On the pros and cons of the latest presidential election in the country Kadkhodaei said: "We must draw lessons from what happened and try to remove pitfalls."
"We should also try to follow the rules and regulations," the Guardian Council Speaker stressed.
The top legislative body endorsed Pres. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's victory at the latest presidential vote.
Kadkhodaei explained about the general policies on amending the elections law proposed by the Expediency Council and National Committee of Elections: "As I announced earlier, we welcome any suggestion on amending the election law, but the proposals must be made according to the rules and framework of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
"Until now several suggestions have been made on the issue. As the supreme leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamanei pointed out, definitely all the institutions of the Islamic Republic will organize their moves based on the constitution," he added.
