Radicalism might be found in every religion and nationalistic-based racism continues to emerge like it did in Norway massacre last year. But why should Muslims worry about every terrorist activity and why is it that fingers are pointed at Muslims after every act of terrorism?

Who smiles whenever a bomb goes off in Karachi, Peshawar, New Delhi, Kabul, Baghdad or Madrid in the name of a religion or sect? Certainly those who look at the world from an extremist point of view, though westerners might claim that the era of Christian fundamentalism is gone and Christian patriots are living in a democratic culture away from bombs and weapons and that it is extremist Muslims who seek to export Islam through explosions.

The truth, however, is that radicalism may be found in every religion.

Killing fellow men does not make Muslims happy and they, like everyone else, condemn such crazy actions.

Those who approve of Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda or the extremist actions and ideas of the Taliban, just like radical Christians make up only a tiny section of the Muslim world and are not welcome in Islamic communities.

Today, with the advancement of science, technology and communications networks, everyone should refer to the main sources of Islam (the Quran and Holy prophet’s (PBUH) Seerah) to know Islam. What Islam commands is based on wisdom and whatever defies wisdom does not have a monotheistic origin.

Al-Qaeda and other extremists who operate in the name of Islam only act as a repellent in the Islamic Awakening field but real Muslims stay vigilant and always exercise moderation.

Real Muslims seek solidarity and unity, and creation of national and regional coalitions to revive the Islamic civilization based on morality.

It is upon the youth in all Muslim countries to know and denounce radical and extremist elements and disavow any kind of extremism.
