Mo'alem (not to be mistaken with Ali Mo'alem Damqani, the recently appointed head of Iran's Academy of Arts) who is the producer of the feature film, 'Aal' announced that the sound mixer of the film, Hossein Abolsedq is the winner of the Golden Simorgh (phoenix) award for the best sound mixer. However the real award went to Ali Reza Alavian for the feature 'Anahita' directed by Azizollah Hamidnejad.
Shortly afterwards Abolsedq came on the scene and received the wrong award. Then Mo'alem expressed his pleasure for the attention the panel of jury paid to the quality of sound mixing in 'Aal'!
The incident surprised the panel of jury as well as the executives of the festival. It must be added to the other bizarre things happened at this edition of the 28th Fajr International Film Festival.
Notably the feature fiction, 'In the Color of Purple' directed by Ebrahim Hatamikia which was banned for five years and nominated for five awards of the festival won the awards for the best film and best director.
