The managing director of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) said that Iran has signed some oil and gas agreements with international companies, but deciding the best course of action, Iranian officials preferred them to remain confidential.

Saifollah Jashnsaz claimed that contrary to some expressed views, at the moment many foreign companies have lined up to invest on Iran's oil and gas projects: "It is more appropriate for us to avoid revealing the details of our contracts with major European and Asian oil companies. We are still negotiating with several companies which are to invest on developing oil and gas fields in the country," he said.

NIORDC managing director announced that negotiations with five key European and Asian countries for the development of five Iranian oil and gas fields are to be finalized. The total value of the agreements is estimated to be about 30 billion dollars.
