Our recommendation to the new U.S. government is to abandon previous policies by respecting the rights of nations.

Despite beautiful remarks on Gaza, international structures have not yet taken even a small step to remove the pains of the brave and oppressed people of Palestine, said the rotating head of the council and the executive committee of Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union (IIPU), Ali Larijani on Sunday.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 21st meeting of the executive committee of IIPU in Algiers, Larijani criticized the current situation of Palestine and the siege of Gaza and said: "What we hear from the Qods territory is whether the expansion of Zionist settlements or the destruction of surrounding areas of the al-Aqsa mosque, or military war-games and playing with countries which think that there is peace."

Referring to the situation in Afghanistan and continuation of the difficult conditions due to the presence of occupiers, the increase in drug production and the expansion of terrorism, he added:" Today, everybody witnesses the destructive effects of this policy in Pakistan, too."

"Our recommendation to the new U.S. government is to abandon previous policies by respecting the rights of nations. This change will benefit both the region and America," said Larijani.

The Speaker of Majlis called terrorism and occupation as two sides of one coin, adding: "If we want to put an end to terrorism, we should force occupiers abandon occupation and control on Islamic countries."
