Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was scheduled to appear on Iranian state TV Saturday night and address people on subsidy reform bill.

He possibly intended to influence the Parliament (Majlis) which is supposed to decide on subsidy bill today. But yesterday at 1 PM, Iran's Semi official Fars news agency announced that the president's TV interview has been postponed (to another indefinite time) because he is engaged. But the interview was plausibly canceled due to the important session of Parliament today on subsidy bill. Such assumption was not rejected by Mojtaba Soroushpour, the director of Public Relations Department of Presidential Office who in an interview with Khabar declared: "The interview is slated for next week."

Answering a question on whether this postponement is related to MPs discussion on subsidy reform bill or not, he asserted: "Such a relation cannot be denied but other issues may also be involved. However, what Fars news agency has issued is not what we announced and they have offered their own comment. Actually it will be disrespectful to people if we declare that the interview was not conducted due to the president's other engagements."
