When the official trip of Saeed Jalili, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council to Russia cancelled, some issues were raised on Iran and Russia relations.

According to Khabar Online correspondent, Russian officials including Nikolai Patrushev secretary of Russia Security Council recently expressed their disapproval over the latest announcement made by Iran on starting production of 20 percent enriched uranium.

Earlier based on a plan outlined by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Iran was to send its low enriched uranium to Russia for further enrichment.

Patrushev who previously visited Tehran had invited Jalili to discuss and exchange his views with him on Iran's nuclear program as well as bilateral, regional and international issues. But he said Tuesday at a press conference that secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council will not come to Russia on his own will.

One day after Jalili's trip called off, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast claimed that the decision was not related to the recent stance taken by Russia on Iran's nuclear case but in line with making more coordination between Iranian officials.

Meanwhile Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has emphasized on finding diplomatic methods to resolve the dispute over Iran's nuclear program. Although he said that economic sanctions against the country of futile agreed that under the Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT) further sanctions are unavoidable.

Lavrov was hopeful that his Iranian counterpart, Manouchehr Mottaki could announce at Munich Conference that Islamic Republic accepts uranium swap proposal but it didn't happen.

Patrushev also said on Tuesday that Iran's announcement on the production of uranium enriched to 20 percent creates doubts about the peaceful nature of the country's nuclear program.

As well as secretary of the Security Council of Russian Federation, Jalili was to discuss with Russian President, Dmitry Medvedev and other high-ranking officials of the country.

The events after the cancellation of Jalili's visit to Russia shows that in an attempt to approach the West, Russia's two-edged policy toward Tehran has been responded by Iranian officials although they don't want to address the issue directly.
