In his recent travel to the Iranian town of Malekan, Namjou regarded himself as the representative of Ahmadinejad in political issues and the only economic topic indicated in his speech was an emphasize on the need for people's participation in huge development projects of the country.
He also severely criticized what he called as a massive wave of propaganda against the government: "On behalf of the president, I'm assigned to let you know that currently 300 websites are poisoning the air against the tenth government."
Referring to the unrest caused after the recent presidential election in the country, Namjou said: "During these events some were diverted from the line of the late Imam Khomeini and the supreme leader, Ayatollah khamenei. They provided the ground for the enemies of Islamic republic system and revolution to take advantage of the situation which is so regrettable."
Actually Namjou is in charge of the most crucial ministry in the country, an entity which simply has an economic significance and as the experts believe the prime condition for running such a huge and sensitive ministry is the official's avoidance of political disputes.
As a comparison, in his provincial tours, the former Minister of energy, Parviz Fattah who was regarded as the successful minister of the ninth cabinet even by his critics, in speaking to journalists tried to distance himself from political issue. He intended to focus his remarks on economic issues related to his own field, an approach which according to many experts was the reason for his success as Energy Minister.
In his tours, Fattah spent time on visiting various districts and alleys of Iranian cities and villages. In order to become acquainted with people's problems in terms of water supplies and electricity, he paid a visit to ordinary houses trying to resolve the problems.
A survey on the profile of Namjou, earlier than being appointed as Minister of Energy, when he was the executive manager of the National Water and Wastewater Engineering Company (NWWEC) proves that he was not inclined to political activism.
Many contractors and manufacturers of energy sector say that the Ministry and its affiliated companies have not paid their debts to them and have asked the minister to resolve the problem.
The fact that electricity consumption in the country is increasingly grown requires the officials to plan for developing the power stations. But such a development is currently slowed down due to the governments delay in paying the difference between the cost of subsidized electricity and the real price to Energy Ministry.
Many experts believe that current process in Ministry of Energy will halt many projects scheduled to be implemented by the entity, even as water and electricity are essential parts of daily life and simply a small disruption within them can disrupt people's life.
