At this event she expressed her regret about staging such show in the country.
According to Khabar Online art correspondent, she began her statements with "I don't have a claim for photography", but later faced severe criticisms made by a number of attended journalists at the session.
Displaying 198 photos on various floors of Iran's House of Artists, she began explaining that these are the result of four years of photography selected among 60,000 photos. At that moment she was asked by a correspondent, "Why your exhibition has occupied a large space of the House of Artists, which is inconceivable for any Iranian professional photographer?"
"I received several proposals from New York, Paris, Dubai, London and other places to hold my exhibition, but I felt these photos belong to here and prefered to stage the event in the House of Artists, but now I prefer not to do it again in Iran," Tehrani responded.
She added that has received 2.2 billion rials (220,000 dollars) loan to prepare her photos for the event: "I took the loan from Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO)."
Another correspondent asked her: "If you really don't have a claim for photography, why have you staged such a large exhibition and defined such high prices for your works?"
"The prices have been defined by Seifollah Samadian (a veteran Iranian photographer), Tehrani answered, "You want to say that I have taken advantage of my fame as an actress, but it's not true. I could spend less money and receive more, but I decided not to lower the quality of my work and spend 2 million to 5 million rials for each frame. On the other hand, I didn't accept the proposals made by the commercial sponsors which could be much more beneficial for me. If I wanted to make money, I would never showcase my works in the House of Artists," she stated.
