As reported by Khabar Online correspondent, Mortazavi the current deputy prosecutor general had told the parliamentary correspondents that he held a meeting with his judicial counterparts in the Parliament without discussing on Kahrizak issue, but the lawmaker Farhad Tajari, a member of the judicial committee of the Parliament announced that in their meeting with Mortazavi some ambiguities over the issue were removed.
"The judicial committee had not invited Mr. Mortazavi, but he came to hold a meeting with a number of lawmakers. The meeting coincided with a special session of the committee on considering the condition of those arrested in post-election unrest," he said.
Located in the south of Tehran, the notorious Kahrizak center held many detainees who participated in post-vote protests and as the official figures show three of them passed away there.
Tajari added that during the session, Mortazavi gave explanations about the problems caused in post-election turmoil and Kahrizak detention center which helped to clarified some issues for further detection: "His accounts were helpful. According to Mr. Mortazavi the standards of Kahrizak detention center had been approved by Iran's Prisons Organization and he refered to some reasons on the issue."
The member of the judicial committee of the Parliament was asked ironically: "Is it possible that you invite Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Radan, Tehran's Police chief (who played a leading role in the crackdown of post-election protests) to conclude that case, or he will also visit the committee unexpectedly?"
"In my view it will be unlikely," he said with a mocking laughter.
