Head of Iran's Olympics Committee Mohammad Ali Abadi officially responded to British Prime Minister David Cameron insisting on Iranians’ participation at London Olympic Games in 2012.

Earlier, the Islamic Republic had protested against the controversial sign of London Olympic Games saying the jagged, multi-colored logo evokes the word "Zion" and must be changed. Speaking to Khabar Online, Ali Abadi said: "We are still underline the same stance."

On late February, in a letter addressed to International Olympic Committee (IOC) Ali Abadi stated: "We have two years ahead to the opening of the games and unfortunately we see the games face with a critical challenge at the beginning which is raised by the racial attitudes of some individuals. As internet documents have proved, using the word Zion in the logo of 2012 Olympic Games is a disgracing action and against Olympia's valuable mottos."

Replying to the issue, Cameron aggressively said: "They would not be missed if they boycott the Olympics because they object to the Games logo. It's completely paranoid. If the Iranians don't want to come, don't come."

When it was unveiled, the logo was attacked by critics who said it is hideous and a waste of money. However the Organizers of the event have backed it saying it is modern, bold, and flexible aimed at communicating with youngsters.

Ali Abadi noted our correspondent: "We previously asked International Olympics Committee to elaborate on the issue and we are still insisting. But we just addressed IOC President Mr. Jacques Rogge and we are waiting for his response. We seek clarification on the issue."

"As a political figure, is better for the British Prime Minister to focus on his job and avoid meddling in the affairs related to international sport. We will soon issue an official statement to respond him. We stress once again that Cameron must not interfere in the Olympics topics and our concerned party is simply International Olympic Committee."
