A group of Iranian and Ukrainian cinematic figures met and discussed Iranian cinematic productions over the past 30 years.

Filmmaker Nikolai Pavlovich Mashchenko, Iran’s ambassador to Kiev Akbar Qasemi, Iranian actor Ahmad Najafi and filmmaker and actor Davud Fat’hali Beigi were among the participants.

Mashchenko praised Iranians and called them a brave nation rich in culture and civilization.

He expressed his appreciation to Iranian cultural officials for their endeavors in holding Iranian cultural week in Kiev, which hosted the event last week.

Film scholar and screenwriter Sergey Trimbach also present at the session stressed on familiarizing Ukrainians with Iranian cinema and described it as something mysterious and attractive for people in the Ukraine.

Denis Gusakov from Krok University in Kiev also talked about mutual exchange of experiences in cinema between both countries.

Ambassador Qasemi said that Iran’s cultural week has helped to demonstrate the truth about Iranian cinema and its worldwide status.

The participants next watched the Iranian movie “Sergeant” by Ali Shah-Hatami.
