In recent years the development of ATM network in Iranian banks has provided the clients with access to their bank accounts and financial transactions without referring to a bank clerk. It has improved the daily services of Iranian banking network, but seemingly despite all advantages it has created several new problems for the customers. For instance most of the times when ATMs are heavily used or in holidays the clients cannot receive an adequate service from the machines.
However a new major problem increasingly worsened in Iranian ATM system is the circulation of counterfeit banknotes which has troubled many customers.
The problem may be resulted both from the ignorance of bank employees in loading the ATMs with counterfeit banknotes or improper money checking by the machines. The problem is that since many of these ATMs are installed outside the bank offices, when a customer receives counterfeit banknotes, he or she cannot prove it and won't be able to make a compliment. Even if the client does so, his/her compliment will be ignored by the bank workers who are not to take the responsibility.
In these cases usually one or two counterfeits are inserted in a wad of banknotes which cannot be realized by many people. Sometimes even if they recognize the counterfeits, they don't refer to the bank office to resolve the issue. So it has caused the bank clerks to neglect the problem to a greater extent.
