Iran released the Persian Gulf opus, composed and conducted by founder of Iran's National Orchestra Farhad Fakhreddini, on CD.

Inspired by the poem My Land Iran by Ali Ghazanfari, the piece has been performed by vocalist Salar Aqili accompanied by instrumentalists from Iran's National Orchestra and various ensembles.

According to the Iranian students news agency, The Persian Gulf was previously performed during Iran's International Congress on the Persian Gulf in May 2009.

The opus was performed by a group of 50 musicians, who also presented pieces by Fakhreddini and inspired by poems composed by Ali Ghazanfari, Mohammad Reza Shafiee Kadkani and Ahmad Jalali.

Numerous Iranian artists have honored the name of the Persian Gulf after certain Persian Gulf littoral states stepped up efforts to rename the historic water way.
