Iranian Javad Hardani claimed a bronze medal in the discus throw of the 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Hardani finished in third place with a throw of 46.53 meters. Tomasz Blatkiewicz from Poland won the gold medal with 53 meters, and Ukrainian Mykola Zhabnyak claimed the silver with 52.48 meters.


The 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships has brought together more than 1,000 athletes from 70 countries.

Iran will compete in the event with 10 participants. The event will run to January 30.
  The competition will serve as a qualifier for the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
